Atrotech Ltd.

Atrotech Ltd. is a privately owned company which was founded 1984. Since then the company has been working on the field of functional electrical stimulation (FES). Facilities are located in the Technology Centre Hermia, Tampere, Finland.

During the years Atrotech Ltd. has developed a new mode of stimulation "multipole sequential stimulation" (MSS). In contrast to the traditional modes of stimulation, MSS allows long-term full-time stimulation after a short conditioning period of the muscle and the use of low threshold currents.

Atrotech's main interest has been, and still is, the continuos development of the Atrostim Phrenic Nerve Stimulation (PNS). In addition also other applications related to the functional electrical stimulation (FES) are at the fundamental research level.

Atrotech's facilities, design, development, manufacturing processes and distribution are in compliance with EN ISO 13485:2003 "Medical Devices - Quality Management Systems - Requirements for Requlatory Purposes" (certified by TÜV SÜD Product Service GmbH, Munich, Germany).
